History
Despite being one of the most popular ultra-luxury cars of all time, a limited number of Silver Wraiths were manufactured between 1946 and 1959. Finding one that’s for sale can be a challenge. However, because of its popularity, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding a Silver Wraith that is in excellent condition. It was, after all, an automobile that was favored by various heads of state around the world.
History:
- WCB69 engine W197B, off test in August 1948.
- H. J. Mulliner touring limousine in blue with opera roof light (body 4958, December 1948).
- Delivered via Kellow-Falkiner to John Carter, Werribee, Vic.
- Registered VIC-221 on April 13, 1949 (still owned by Carter in 1961).
- Later owned by Malvin D. Cooper, Vic. Registered in the 1970s-82 as VIC= LEH-741 in June 1972.
- Peter W. Shellard, Vic., registered in 1982 as VIC = RR-613.
- In the 1990s, it went to Japan.
- Upon the passing of Peter Shellard, Always Classic Cars acquired it in 2005. It is one of the first vehicles classified as a Limousine.
